As an Asian-American, Lin used his experience and studied moves from his role model basketball players and professional basketball strategies. He was unique from many basketball players; he devoted much time and effort to learning and closely examining basketball forms used by professionals, major techniques, and legendary moves. Lin failed several times along the way. However no matter how people offended him racially or whether many people never expected him to succeed, his determination, perseverance, and temptation for what he truly wanted overcame his weaknesses and disadvantages. After he had mastered these skills and techniques, he showed them off to the world and inspired many of his peers. Sports professionals will never succeed if they think they will never fail. The best and the strongest have to fail a few times, or they will never be prepared for the real world and will never be motivated to truly achieve.
Jeremy Lin met obstacles along the path to becoming exemplary, but he told himself that there was no shame in failure. "I'm not playing for other people; if I start thinking in those terms I would put too much pressure on myself. I play basketball because that is what I love to do," Lin stated. The ride to his professional career never went smoothly. Although he achieved much in his college career of leading his teams to victory in NCAA championships, he was never picked up by an NBA team. After many impressive plays and basketball overviews, Lin was eventually signed to the NBA Golden State Warriors team, but later was let go. The same thing happened when he joined the Houston Rockets later on. Soon, he eventually found his way to the New York Knicks as a backup player where he surprised the whole world through his act of Linsanity.
`Lin has achieved much more for those around him than himself. Being one of the very few to have enough academics training to enter Harvard University and at the same time to have a knack for sports skills, Lin has inspired many around the world to pursue sports privileges. Many parents have strongly encouraged children to focus on academics and not have anything, such as beloved sports, in the way of getting good grades. Inspired by Lin's success, people would think that they would never be able to prove themselves very successful if they never achieved mental and physical strength. Lin has appeared on many articles from Yahoo, Time, ESPN, and has been viewed on from many news reporters. By far he has succeeded in chasing his professional career, but he has done much more than that; he has inspired the world to succeed.
Jeremy Lin is more than an inspiration, leader, and a success chaser, he is a messenger who came through obstacles, hardships, and failures to deliver a message to the tens of millions around him; any religion and race has just an equal chance to pursue any ambition they please, but it matters how they value the opportunity.
