None Have Benefited from Prolonged Warfare -Sun Tzu
In the world, we will discover many conflicts, and mistakes will lead to war. Sometimes defending ourselves is the right choice, but unless your enemy launches a big attack on you, you don’t have to respond to every small attack. Have you ever been in a real battle? Whether you have or not, it is no man's dream to enter the gun field, but a nightmare. You risk your own life and watch your military mates go down. Do not throw away your life so recklessly. When you are on that battle field, you have to know that all the enemies you hurt put misery and sadness into many other lives, including their own families. Look at the enemy as your mirror. As long as you send soldiers to attack the enemy’s country, you are no better than the enemy.
Many wars and battles are fought for wrong causes and can be avoided by using wise strategies. Wars against the Taliban and Iraq have been pointless. What have we achieved with them? We have achieved nothing but the loss of many lives and misery upon many families. As our leaders' hatred overcomes their wise decisions, they are tempted to take revenge and launch the war. We must consider choosing other options than military fighting. Many times problems can be solved without using violence or firing a single gun shot. As Sun Tzu in the ancient Chinese book The Art of War said: “The best victory is when the opponent surrenders of its own accord before there are any actual hostilities... It is best to win without fighting .” “There is no instance of a nation benefitting from prolonged warfare.” Today, we are all linked together in a flat world, and we must work together at times to solve problems.
In many cases, revenge is most likely the cause of war. As you see your enemy hurting you, it is easy to be tempted for revenge. But as you watch your enemy go down, you are being poisoned by yourself and this black memory will stick with you forever. Some have called John F. Kennedy the greatest president our country has ever seen in the last century. He has saved many lives from being endangered and many family losses. He has stopped a likely world war before it started by not declaring war against the Soviet Union. Though he is the youngest president in the history of the U.S, he took the right choice to avoid waging the war while many of his elders struggled to make wise decisions like him.
We all have to fight for a world meaningful. We cannot lose hope for that. In modern day life, we still encounter problems in our economy and our world. We have to unite and work together to solve our problems. One does not go to war without making a proper decision beforehand. Is this matter worth fighting for or can we solve it politically or diplomatically? Everybody reading this article should now know that war is the last option on the table to consider. Seek other options to solve problems, because it is not impossible. We will encounter problems along the way, but we should look beyond the option of war, as now we know that this is never the best solution to a problem.
