Once you have loaded the game, you will be immediately placed in the lobby loading screen, where people can click on the store to purchase bonus abilities for your games like bonus experience points or champions. There is currently 109 champions available in the game, but Riot decided that they should pull out 10 free champions to play every week, so that people are encouraged to try them out and purchase them. There are 2 ways to purchase bonus specials and champions; points that the game gives you after every game which is called IP(Influence points), or prepaid cards that you can buy at a Gamestop,711, Toys R Us, etc which are charged into points called RP(Riot points). IP takes a significantly longer time for a person to buy champions and bonuses, while RP will allow to buy whatever you need in a shorter time, but will cost money.
There are currently 4 maps currently available to play on LoL which are named: The Twisted Treeline, Summoners Rift, Dominion, and the Proving Grounds which is considered more of a custom game map. In all the maps, there is only one main goal in mind, in which two teams will compete against the other team in groups of five to try and destroy a nexus block. Whoever is able to run through their opposing teams defenses faster wins, however the other team can try and stop you and they also have waves of small creatures called minions who will fight to try and push themselves toward your base. The Summoners Rift game also has a dragon which spawns on bottom of the map in a pit, and a giant worm monster called baron which is not wise to face alone, however killing these two monsters will grant bonus gold to you and your team and slaying the baron will also give a special buff. These two monsters can turn the game over to the other side if killed at the right time, so most people are very cautious when they try and slay them.
In its current stage, League of Legends is progressively becoming a much better game than when it was released in 2009. Although the game only offers a fraction of what a retail product would offer, League of Legends is an improving game that should continue to do well for at least a couple more years. There would be no surprise if the game suddenly had a price tag on it because of how much fun you’ll have when you start this game. League of Legends is a game worth trying to play, and I everyone should try out this excellent rpg game.
