In 1997, the Thrust SSC, the first land vehicle to travel faster than sound, was created. It can travel up to 760 miles per hour and 1228 km. Trust SSC holds the world land speed record. The designers of the vehicle were Ron Ayers, Jeremy Bliss and Glynne Bowsher. I think the designers got the design from a real jet. If you look at it really close, you can see it kind of looks like a Jet. The engines look like air plane engines. Two of the engines are from royal navy phantom fighter bomber planes. The engines are smooth, made out of sand by the black rock mountain. The Trust SSC looks like a jet but there are several wheels on the bottom. Also it has a fin to press the vehicle into the ground. This vehicle’s driver was royal air force wing commander Andy Green. In 1983, Richard Noble broken the world land speed record with Trust 2, one of his earlier inventions. Thrust SSC broke the sound barrier for the first time. The car was 54 feet long, 12 feet wide and weighed 10.5 tons. At the end of the run, a large parachute was released from the rear of the car to help decelerate. Many of you wonder why they call it SSC, perhaps it’s because the SSC stands for supersonic car. The Thrust SSC represents the country: the United Kingdom. Andy Green, Richard Noble and the whole team of trust SSC have accomplished a lot but they have built another vehicle. The team of Trust SSC now presents the Bloodhound SSC. Trust SSC took a long time to build, but at the end they were able to be successful. They accomplished their mission and it was all worth it.

What is Aids/HIV? Aids/HIV is a brutal disease that flows through blood. It is a lot like other viruses, including those that cause the "flu" or the common cold. But there is an important difference – over time, your immune system can clear most viruses out of your body. That isn't the case with Aids/HIV – the human immune system can't seem to get rid of it.
We know that HIV can hide for long periods of time in the cells of your body and that it attacks a key part of your immune system – your T-cells or CD4 cells. Your body has to have these cells to fight infections and disease, but HIV invades them, uses them to make more copies of it, and then destroys them. Over time, HIV can destroy so many of your CD4 cells that your body can't fight infections and diseases anymore. When that happens, HIV infection can lead to AIDS. Having HIV does NOT mean a person will also have AIDS. AIDS only occur when people with HIV disease begin to get severe opportunistic infections or their CD4 counts fall below a certain level.
People with healthy immune systems can be exposed to certain viruses, bacteria, or parasites and have no reaction to them—but people living with HIV/AIDS can face serious health threats from what are known as “opportunistic” infections. This means they take advantage of your weakened immune system, and they can cause devastating illnesses
Today, we still do not have a cure. Millions of people are suffering or dying. Unlike other diseases we know Aids/HIV travels silently killing people. Aids/HIV is the third leading killer for young adults Americans. Aids/HIV is not a distant threat but a present. We should not fear this disease, but except it. Today in our society kids of all ages who have Aids/HIV are increased of being bullied, because they are “different.” Kids now a day are afraid to say they have Aids. I believe that anyone who bullies someone with Aids or HIV they should be ashamed. This is because we should not bully/leave them out, but except it. If we truly accept this disease we might just find a cure for this silent killer.
